Berna Onat

I started my career in the Museum Education field by working at the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum. After 9 years of experience in public engagement interactions, I transitioned my focus to human-centered/interdisciplinary design with the Graduate Media Design Practices at ArtCenter College of Design.

My background in Art History has led me to develop skills in interpreting social narratives embedded in the works of art through contextual research and visual analysis. In my current practice, I have built on that by experimenting with embodied research methods using motion-based technologies to analyze gestures and body language in multi-cultural narratives.

I am particularly interested in investigating emergent languages of embodied interactions in hypermedia spaces.
