Christina Velazquez is a Latinx cinematographer born and raised in Los Angeles. While attending Art Center, she decided to primarily work as a freelance gaffer. This choice helped her learn what it takes to design and paint scenes with light. Every new project she accepted as a gaffer, molded her creativity as a cinematographer and released her newfound passion for lighting design. She finds herself most inspired when she works on projects that discuss and bring awareness to the personal lives of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. She has collaborated with artists from Cal Arts, USC, Woman in Media, and many more, as well as worked on beauty brand commercials such as Cherie and Ulta.
