Fangting Liu was born in 1996 in Shenyang, China. Before coming to ArtCenter College of Design, Liu explored a diverse range of mediums including watercolor, oil, and acrylic focused on figurative painting. Currently, She has expanded her practice to explore physical materials, found objects, and installation. Liu uses mixed media to explore issues of gender, sustainability, materiality, and the world around her. Her work puts importance on the role of empathy between humans and nonhumans.
