Gabrielle Pulgar

An em dash and its many uses can represent a multitude of things—a unit of typographic measurement, a pause or shift, a way to create emphasis, a tool to declare ownership. An em dash, if described in its simplest terms, is just a line, but what fascinates me is how something so simple can take on so many forms and hold so many meanings. It’s not static, but conversational. Form and meaning are fundamental to how I approach my work—distilling even the simplest idea into parts is how I arrive at a solution.
