James Tao

Hello! I’m James Tao. I am an artist based in Anaheim and Pasadena. I was born in Arcadia, California but spent more than half my childhood in Springfield, Illinois. My primary works are focused on designing and drawing environments and backgrounds for film and television. Designing simple cityscapes using only flat geometric shapes and simple colors. Writing and illustrating my own children’s book teach children about the importance of being unique. During my free time I am a dog care volunteer at a animal shelter, volunteer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary teaching the public about boating safety, and finally a volunteer service member with the California State Guard air component, working in Public Affairs and supporting the state. I am willing the work both in-house and freelance.
