Hi! My name is Jenny Situ and this is my cat Monji. I am a creature designer and concept artist currently based in San Francisco. I specialize in watercolor and digital painting, as well as clay sculpting. I am capable in Photoshop and Illustrator and proficient in Zbrush. My inspiration comes from listening to Chinese folk stories from my childhood as well as animal anatomy and nature. The whimsical nature of these folk tales felt magical to imagine the appearance of the creatures and the ancient world they had lived in.
In my personal life, I’m an aquascaper - I design natural layouts for aquariums and terrariums. I love it because it is another opportunity to develop ideas from start to finish. I like to think of myself as a scholarly explorer, discovering the different creatures and worlds of our collective imaginations.
