Jess (J) Ziman

Hi, I’m J Ziman. I’m a London born, LA raised designer who uses intentional design to craft a mood and experience. Prior to Product Design, I spent 10 years as a chef, where I curated my love for quality ingredients, recipe development and crafting a really complete experience.

My design process is intentional, narrative driven, exploratory and hands-on. I find value in transformation; treating materials as ingredients, turning the repurposed and underappreciated into luxury objects. I explore juxtapositions; digital and analogue, industrial and natural, light and shadow. I love to utilize traditional crafts and digital tools, merging hand and machine, past and future, to create a recipe for a more sustainable design system.
