Karen (Young) Lee

Being raised in three different countries, my cultural immersion began as part of a world-traveling family. I became a positive thinker and an ardent explorer, unafraid of new experiences. Exposure to travel ignited my profound passion for different cultures, and I began to learn to play the traditional Korean instrument 대금 (Daegum) while simultaneously studying Chinese and Japanese. Learning to read traditional musical notes, along with the multitude of characters contained within three very different languages, sparked my interest in typography and UI/UX design. This transference of language and ideas through symbols across cultures fuels my innovation and exchange of ideas in my work as a designer.
