Layne Harris is a figurative painter and illustrator, using simplified shapes and color through the use of various mediums including painting, printmaking, and drawing. He is inspired by the media culture he was surrounded by growing up in the late 1990s / early 2000s, including video games, western comic books, and cartoons. Harris uses vibrant colors and graphic shapes in an attempt to relate back to his adolescence, while reflecting on themes of the present including empathy, identity, and the human experience.
