Melissa Fernandez

I am an illustrator and background artist, born and raised in Miami, FL, in a Mexican immigrant family. I am interested in developing and excelling in the craft of storytelling and background design. I am influenced by Latin Indigenous histories/ folktales and the natural world because I grew up listening to my abuelos share stories of our past and biking through the Everglades with my parents every month. Therefore, my illustrations are expansions of my surroundings which are full of color, life, and passion.
