Rue's work lies at the intersection of art, technology and social justice, seeking to challenge dominant narratives around technological innovation. She deeply engages data and algorithms that power automated systems, and complicates them through creative intervention, subversion and poetic misuse in order to empower more fluidity in expression. Her research navigates between feminism studies and machine learning, resting in the invisible, illegible, untranslatable representation of human embodied knowledge beyond machine interpretation, in the effort for opening up generative sites for collective engagement against algorithmic generalization of distinct narratives of our own.
